The tournament console
In development & testing

What it is

A complete tournament system for the people who run events. Not just an app, but the operator's console and the field kit that goes with it, built to take a paintball tournament from the first draw to the final score on one screen.

What it does

Where it's at

I'll be straight about this, the way I am everywhere else on the site. The console is built. You can click a tournament through it from end to end, the series, the teams, the draw, the timer, the scoreboard. It is deployed and in testing right now.

What it hasn't done yet is run a real event, and the field hardware, the wireless buttons and the PA, isn't built yet. This is one person building it, and I would rather show you exactly where it stands than dress it up. What you are looking at is a working system being proven, not a finished box on a shelf.

What I'm building toward

One screen that runs a whole tournament day. The operator sets the draw and starts the clock. The refs stop the point from the field with a button instead of shouting across the netting. The crowd watches a live scoreboard, and anyone streaming pulls a clean overlay off the same feed. When the last point lands, the result is already in Genesis and a graphic is ready to post. No clipboards, no spreadsheet at midnight, no arguing a score from memory.

The outcome I want

More tournaments, run better. I want the operators who carry this scene to spend their day running paintball, not fighting paperwork, and I want an event to look and feel like the real sport it is. If Verdict makes it easier to put on a good tournament, more of them happen, and the whole scene grows. That is the point of the entire thing.

Why a field operator would want it

You already know where a tournament day bites.

Verdict is built to take all of that off you. One screen runs the day. The results land in Genesis on their own, so your season builds itself. And it is built to turn each result into a graphic with team logos, ready to post, so your event has a proper presence online without you ever opening a design tool.

Run it once and it is yours to shape. Come in early and the hardware gets built around how your field actually runs.

How to get involved

Soon I'll be looking for the first operators to trial Verdict on a real day. It isn't quite ready for that yet, but it's getting close. If you run a series or a field and you're interested, register your interest. When it's ready, you'll be the first people I come to, and your feedback will shape what gets built next.

Trialling it now costs you nothing. Further down the line Verdict won't be free. It is a full system to run and support, so I expect it to settle on a fair licensing fee, plus the field equipment you buy once and own. Nothing hidden, and nothing to pay until it is genuinely running your events.

Who's running this?

Verdict is built by me, through Original Sin Paintball. It isn't tied to any one series or field, and it isn't built to lock anyone in. It's a tool for whoever runs events, made to fit the scene rather than bend it. If it's going to run your tournament, it should be built with your input, so tell me what your day actually needs.

Part of one system

Verdict sits at the sharp end, where the tournament actually happens.

Built in Australia, for how this scene actually plays.

Verdict is in development and testing, not yet open to operators. Want to be one of the first to run an event on it?
