What it is
A living record of Australian competitive paintball. Teams, players, tournaments, venues, stores, series and champions, along with the people and businesses behind them, gathered in one place instead of scattered across old draw sheets and social media posts where it slowly gets lost.
What it does
- Browse every team in the scene and see how they've finished.
- Follow each series and the tournaments that make it up.
- Look up the venues the scene plays at, the stores that kit it out, and the champions of every season.
Where it's at
Genesis is live and free to browse, and you don't need an account just to look around. The scene is already on the map. More than ninety teams are in, most of them with their result history, along with the tournaments, the venues and the champions of past seasons.
I'll be straight with you though, it's early. This is one person building it, so some corners are still bare. The rosters especially are mostly empty, and that is exactly where the scene comes in.
Why you'd want it
There's a good chance your team is already here, with its history and its results, because a big part of the scene has already been researched and entered. Genesis lets you see where your team sits and how the rest of the scene is shaping up, all in the one place, instead of piecing it together from memory and screenshots every season.
How to get involved
This part only the scene can do, and Genesis holds far more than teams. Whoever you are in the game, there's a way in.
- Players set up a profile, then find their team and get on its roster.
- Team owners and captains claim their team, or create it if it isn't here yet, then keep the roster, logo and profile up to date.
- Coaches register as a coach and get listed with the team they work with.
- Field owners check whether their venue is already listed and claim it. Once it's yours, you keep its details right and approve the teams that call it home.
- Store owners claim their shop from the directory, or add it if it isn't there.
- Brands add their paintball or apparel label so the scene can find them.
- Photographers and media set up a page with a bio, the series they cover, and a gallery of their work.
- Officials and organisations the bodies that run and govern the events have a home here too.
Claims on teams, fields, stores, brands and bodies are checked before they go live. You register for the role, put the claim in, and I approve it, so listings stay legitimate and nobody ends up owning a team, a venue or a shop that isn't theirs.
If your corner of the scene isn't covered yet, get in touch and we'll sort it. It's free, and there's no catch. Genesis is a reference tool for the scene, not something I'm trying to sell you.
Who's running this?
Genesis is run by me, through Original Sin Paintball. I keep the record and act as the site's admin, nothing more. I don't take sides. Every team, every series and every field is treated the same, with no favourites and no politics. This is a neutral home for the whole scene, and it stays that way.
If you find something wrong or missing, whether it's a result, a logo, a name, or a team that isn't here yet, please get in touch and I'll fix it. The record only gets better when the people in it tell me what's off.
Part of one system
Genesis is the backbone of Original Sin Paintball, the record the other apps are built around.
- Verdict runs tournaments on the day. Once it's live, its results will flow straight back here on their own, so the record keeps building itself.
- Oracle, the coach's app, is built to pull team rosters straight from Genesis.
- Eden is coming soon.
Built in Australia, for how this scene actually plays.
